Postgraduate part-time Business Administration and Management (MBA)

Programme description (brief)

The postgraduate part-time Business Administration and Management aimed at graduates with degrees in engineering and scientific subjects who also want to acquire additional business economics competencies. The combined course is an innovative course which can be completed while you work: In addition to self-study phases, which form approx. 70% of the course, there are also regular on-site learning phases with required attendance, which currently amount to approx. 30%.

The primary goal of the Master course is to expand and intensify the interdisciplinarity and connection between technology (taking into account previous experience from the workplace and first degree), business economics, social skills and IT. This prepares engineers and scientists for middle and higher managerial roles. The legal, IT, social and business economics elements of the course are carefully coordinated. Completing the Master programme prepares you for higher service in public administration and for a doctoral programme.

Students acquire the skills to consider and assess problems and questions from not only a technical-engineering perspective, but also from a business-economic perspective. The aim of this course is to qualify students for managerial tasks. The course should communicate the business-economic contents and methods required in the professional and working environment as well as the interdisciplinary skills (key skills).

The course is composed of compulsory modules and general optional subjects. In contrast to full-time courses, the general optional subjects proportion is lower. In the scope of a non-consecutive course, the programme starts by communicating the basics of business economics as compulsory contents. The knowledge required for advanced managerial tasks are also a compulsory element, leaving less room for general optional subject elements.
