Bio- and Nanotechnology (B.Sc.)

Programme description (brief)

Biotechnology is an omnipresent part of daily life. It has established a sustainable position for itself in medicine, pharmacology, agriculture, food technology, chemistry and environmental protection. In the same way, nanotechnology has also become indispensable. It is a component in a multitude of products – maybe without our even being aware of the fact. Or did you know that it is nanoparticles that make car tyres black and suntan lotion effective?

It is certainly undisputed that biotechnology and nanotechnology are among the key technologies of the 21st century. For this reason, when it comes to the sustainability of the industrial nation Germany, both technologies and assigned an influential and supportive importance.

The Bachelor in Biotechnology and Nanotechnology combines both technologies in one interdisciplinary, scientific approach. It encourages students to work independently and allows them, for example, to research biomedical substances or biocatalytic handling of chemicals.
