Programme description (brief)

Information Systems lies in a field of tension between informatics and economics. Specialists in that field often have an important interface function and need to have solid knowledge in both of those fields. But as an important interface skills like project management and good English skills are necessary as well.

Business data processing specialists are often working on complex projects like the introduction of an ERP system in an established business or the preparation of strategic IT-Management decisions. In order to full fill those tasks, interdisciplinary competences are necessary. The program Information Systems considers all of that and brings those competences together.

Professional perspective

Due to the connection of knowledge of business processes and IT Know-how the program is very promising. Graduates are needed in all economic areas. Besides the IT business, banks, consulting and service companies as well as the production industry offer jobs in that field. Typical application areas are E-Business, E-Commerce, Industry 4.0, knowledge management and much more.
