• Studium der Allgemeinen Elektrotechnik an der Universität Paderborn von 1978 bis 1984

Dr. Ortjohann ist seit mehr als 20 Jahren im Bereich der Netzintegration regenerativer Energien und dezentraler Wandlersysteme tätig. Er hat eine Vielzahl von Forschungs- und Industrieprojekte auf diesem Gebiet durchgeführt. Bereits Anfang der 90-iger Jahre wurden vom ihm in einem vom damaligen Bundesministerium für Forschung und Technologie geförderten Forschungsprojekt “Großflächige Einbindung regenerativer Energiequellen in elektrische Energieversorgungssysteme“ die Auswirkungen einer Photovoltaik-Stromerzeugung und die damit verbundene fluktuierenden Leistungseinspeisung innerhalb der konventionellen Energieversorgung untersucht.

Seit April 2000 hat er die Professur für Energieversorgung an der Hochschule Südwestfalen, Abt. Soest, im Fachbereich Elektrische Energietechnik inne. Die aktuellen FuE-Arbeiten erstrecken sich sowohl auf die konzeptionelle Entwicklung von modernen Energieversorgungskonzepten mit einem hohen Deckungsanteil regenerativer Energien als auch auf deren technische Umsetzung. Die aktuellen F+E-Aktivitäten erstrecken sich auf die Entwicklung modularer Wechselrichter mit intelligentem Automatisierungs-Interface für Smart Grids.
